2006-11-01

HSINCHU, Taiwan, Nov. 1 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- TrendChip Technologies Corp., a leading broadband IC design company in Taiwan, today announced that it has successfully demonstrated interoperability of its ADSL2+ Gateway platform with Motive's Home Device Manager(TM)(HDM). The interoperability tests were conducted as part of the MotiveSmart(TM) Verification Program, which evaluates customer premises equipment (CPE) for compliance with the DSL Forum's WAN Management protocol, known as TR-069.
Demonstrating TrendChip's interoperability with Motive HDM ensures Service Providers that TrendChip is committed to providing state-of-the-art DSL chipsets and software with smallest memory footprint to meet their needs in both revenue and cost control," stated Shinjou Fang, CEO of TrendChip Technologies Corp. "TrendChip's solution with TR-069 software has been selected for BSNL's new ADSL2+ deployment in India. Furthermore, for those Service Providers who have deployed large scale ADSL1/2+ modems, TrendChip also provides them with a creative solution for supporting TR-069 on a bridge modem to unify the remote management systems."
The company began volume production of its latest ADSL2+ CPE chipset, the TC3162P2 , in November of last year. The company anticipates a growing demand for the new chipset to come from the replacement of Wi-Fi routers in the both the telecom and channel sectors in 2006, the sources noted.
TrendChip's solid implementation of the DSL Forum standard includes TR-069 protocol extensions such as TR-098 and LAN-side CPE management protocols such as TR-064. TR-069, TR-098 and TR-064 are the building blocks for service providers to implement true zero-touch activation, configuration and provisioning solutions for Internet gateway devices(IGD) on both WAN and LAN side.
"We are pleased to add TrendChip to the growing list of the MotiveSmart Verification Program members," said RJ Brideau, Motive's vice president of business and channel development. "TrendChip's market presence in China, India and Taiwan makes them a strong partner for Motive, and service providers that deploy TrendChip's ADSL2+ chipsets and software will also be equipped with Motive's standards-based management capabilities that enable the seamless roll out of new triple play services."
